Event Summary

Increasing cost savings by consolidating spend and reducing suppliers requires a multi-pronged strategy, which may include incorporating the leverage of a GPO.  A GPO is not a supplier or a procurement outsourcer, it is designed to supplement, not replace existing procurement personnel.

The GPO concept of providing cost savings for its members by aggregating purchasing power has been around for decades.  This presentation will explore lessons learned that have helped reinvent the modern GPO, debunk myths that have been associated with GPO’s, and present insights on where GPO’s are headed.

About our Speaker

As Managing Director for OMNIA Partners in the Southeast, Dave Plantan is responsible for assisting companies in evaluating whether the GPO model fits into their overall sourcing strategy.  Since 2003, when Dave opened the office for Corporate United in Minneapolis, he has played an instrumental role in growing the number of members from 30 to 500 companies.

Dave and his wife Christine reside in Wayzata, MN and their two grown children live and work in Southern California.
